The high church of Alexander McQueen Fall 2013

When it comes to drama on the runway, nothing can quite stand against the fearless statements Sarah Burton makes so freely under Alexander McQueen?s patrimony of exuberance. This season, the 10 looks, or rather five pairings that flawlessly formed an extravagant and breathtaking line up, were rendered an elevated sense of lavishness when the high church influences met the intricate luxury representative of Queen Elizabeth?s imposing wardrobe.

Like we grew to expect from her, Sarah Burton delivered an out-of-this-world experience with the fall / winter 2013 presentation, having her garments steer away from the ordinary and bracing a sublime sense of perfection. White silk dresses outlined with delicate pearls, and more of the pearl embroideries covering black jackets with wide peplums, lace gowns with trains sweeping the salon floors belonging to the Op?ra Comique and white and gold Elizabethan mirrorings, made sure everything in between ?the communion gowns to cardinals? robes? standing as references were given an accurate translation.

At the edge of couture, unconventional and nearly transporting, Burton?s collection symbolized everything fashion should stand for in the end, marking one of the most memorable moments of this fashion week season.
